It continues to be imperative to ensure the protection of doctors, nurses and other health workers engaged in providing healthcare services to tackle the coronavirus. To this end both the government and various non-government organizations have been providing protective gear for the frontline workers.
Since the outbreak of the corona virus in Bangladesh, Grameen Fabrics and Fashions Ltd has been producing PPE gowns for doctors, nurses and health workers on an ongoing basis with financial support from Grameen Telecom most of which are being supplied to different hospitals and healthcare institutions in the country.
Grameen Telecom is producing and distributing high quality PPE gowns to protect the health of all frontline health workers, including doctors and nurses. In addition, Grameen Telecom is distributing imported KN-95 masks, hand gloves and protective goggles to specific hospitals for coronavirus treatment. Grameen Telecom is working continuously to ensure the protection of all health workers providing ongoing services to those infected with the coronavirus.
Doctors, nurses and other health workers are treating patients infected with the corona virus in 7 divisional cities outside Dhaka also. In order to offer them some Grameen Telecom has distributed 5,500 high quality PPEs (gowns), 16,500 KN-95 masks, 11,000 hand gloves and 990 protective goggles in 11 hospitals. The hospitals are Chittagong General Hospital, Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases Chittagong, Khulna Medical College and Hospital, Khulna Diabetic Hospital, Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, SK Hospital Mymensingh, Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, Rajshahi Infections Hospital, Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital Rangpur, Sahid Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital Sylhet and Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital Barisal.
Grameen Telecom activities to distribute protective gears to health workers engaged in corona treatment, and those in organizations engaged in tackling coronavirus will continue will continue until the corona-crisis is resolved.
